On-The-Fly Leadership
Organizational life, and by extension leadership, as we once knew it just a decade ago no longer exists. Since the COVID 19 pandemic, managing the hybrid workforce has become common place and an ever-more challenging endeavor to master. Many leaders simply continue to manage their way through it all using the tools and techniques from yesteryear. This is unsustainable!
Think of it this way. As the workplace has become a more complex environment to get things done with the proliferation of technology and distance managing the workforce has stretched leaders' capacity to the limit, organizational performance has been directly impacted. In fact, according to a long-standing study conducted by McKinsey regarding organizational performance, Fortune 500 companies alone lose $20B to $30B off the bottom line annually and the numbers are on the rise. This too is unsustainable!
No doubt, the great transition between the outgoing information age and the incoming collaboration age is taking its toll on leadership - and it ain't pretty. To encapsulate this modern-day phenomenon, I coined the term "on-the-fly leadership." It creates a fallout on the Core Leadership Functions - meeting management, decision making and reporting - and creates a blowback effect on the ability of leaders to focus on the things that matter when they matter that I refer to as Attention Deficit Syndrome.
Progressive leaders want to know how to cope with these two performance-killing aspects of modern leadership as change comes at them at light speed. I can be of great help in this area as the expert on the deep-seeded relationship between collaboration, performance and excellence. Acting as thought leader, facilitator, intermediary or executive coach, I can instill the confidence in a leader or leadership team by providing the tools and techniques necessary to successfully lead in the 21st century - guaranteed!
