Greetings...
I'm Bill Adams, a leading authority on the deep seated relation between collaboration, performance and excellence. Acting as the strategic thought leader on numerous engagements in Fortune 50 and high growth companies in my firm Whitespace since 1998, I proved time and again that my approach - Value Component System - is a stealthy modern-day mechanism to help executives and leadership teams effectively address business performance challenges. As a boutique firm, I employed a handful of seasoned consultants each with a specialty to assist and 80% of our customer base were in the technology and healthcare sectors - this was our sweet spot.
Throughout the journey our firm helped leadership teams resolve a wide variety of business performance challenges e.g. turned around the sales team in Lucent Technologies Solutions Group, launched a billion dollar service model in Compaq and helped many small high growth companies prepare for M&A and IPO. We accomplished this using three pre-packaged offerings each focused on a specific aspect of improving performance.
1. Business Creation Engineering - focused on creating a new or enhanced business model
2. Revenue Engineering - focused on optimizing top line performance by strengthening the contact to contract paradigm
3. Market research - focused on two multi-year studies - "Organization And Market Dynamics" and "What Makes Leaders Tick."
Today, I'm a single practitioner. After amassing numerous case studies over the years, I authored the book "OUTFOCUS" published by ForbesBooks in 2022 on its way to becoming an Amazon best seller. In it, I articulate in great detail the importance of leaders being mindful of how a modern-day phenomenon I dubbed on-the-fly leadership creates a fallout on the Core Leadership Functions - meeting management, decision making and reporting. I further assert that this phenomenon causes a blowback effect on the ability of leaders to focus on the things that matter when they matter referring to it as Attention Deficit Syndrome. Taken together, I deduced that they are the primary cause for the rise in poor organizational performance that McKinsey, Deloitte and many other leading research firms claim cost Fortune 500 companies alone $20B to $30B off the bottom line annually, and its getting worse not better.
Acting as thought leader, facilitator, change agent, and executive confidant, I help leadership teams overcome these performance-killing hurdles by sharing and applying the principles found in my Value Component System. Since 1998, it has proven to help leadership teams or individual executives be the best they can be. If the need arises, I dig into my close-knit group of senior consulting associates each of whom brings a unique expertise to the table to assist me in an engagement.
